FASHION SHOW

My daughters Fanny and HailNo are in a sorority of sorts.  It is called FIAT.  It is through the church.  Yesterday, they did a "Modesty Fashion Show".  I endured  over an hour with my ex-husband.  Just when I thought I would either strangle him or myself, these beautiful girls came out.

  I decided it was worth the time I had to spend with him.  And this is LIFE AS I KNOW IT!

Vampire Diaries Premier Party

The Vampire Diaries is a silly show, but I have to admit that I like it.  On top of that, Fanny and HailNo also LOVE this show.  HailNo is planning a party for the season premier.  It may be silly, but if she wants to do it, why not?

 I found this blog to give her some ideas.  I had the idea of doing a dish for each character.  My family LOVES punch, so I thought we could do "Bonnie's Brew".  But, that was as far as I got. 

I am not sure what we will do, but HailNo wants to take lots of pic so she can write about it on tumblr.

Taking a Detox Bath

Yep, that is what I am going to do today. 

I found this article, and thought, "MelMir, it has been a while since you have done a detox bath.  It is a good time to do one!" 

I, pretty much, do what the articles says...epsom salt and baking soda.  I always use tea tree oil.  I am going to to try ginger this time.

Train Like a Woman

I wish that I could train like a man, but the fact is,women and men are just different. Most women have these things called Breasts/Boobs/Babas (in my case).  I still nurse my baby, so I have to wear 2 (that's right T-W-O) sports bras.  My gals would hit me in the face if I only wore 1.

I have found a fitness clothing store that looks interesting.  I am going to try one of their bras to see IF I can get by with just 1.  I will post a review after I get it and wear it.

Manic Monday...OK! NOT REALLY

And with my busy week ahead, I better have lots of tea on hand.  I have found a new one that I really like.  India Breakfast.  It tastes sort of like a chai, but not quite as spicy.  I found it at Publix.

Since It is Practically Fall...

I think I will make some PUMPKIN BREAD!!!  I have a wonderful recipe of my own, but I saw this picture:

I thought I would need to modify the recipe some to make it lower in fat, but when I looked at A KITCHEN ADDICTION for the recipe I found that it is already that way.

I don't think I will spread the entire bread with the buttercream.  I think I will make it and let people (meaning the kids) spread it on their slice if they want.

Get Inside

Sometimes...well let me be honest...99% of the time, I wish that I could get inside Colby's head and see what is going on.  The past few days he has been fine when he leaves home, but is becoming violent at school.  Unfortunately, Colby can not tell us why.   We have asked, but we can not get a response that we understand.

What do I do?  I have no idea, but this is LIFE AS I KNOW IT!

My girls are known in our circle as Fanny and HailNo. They are so full of life and fun. They are pretty and smart. They crack me up on a daily basis. They are very different. I love them both so much. They are 2 of the best things I ever did!

Mi Alpha y Mi Omega

The 2 good looking fellows are my Alpha and my Omega...my beginning and my end.  They are my oldest and youngest children.

I did not do a whole lot before I had children.  I was barely driving age when Alpha (aka POOKIE) was born.  I, like the Pookster, went to a lot of tournaments and won a few trophies.  BUT, let me tell you that it is a lot more fun watching him than it ever was for me competing.

Alpha was almost driving age when Omega (aka EAM) was born.  So far, Omega is too young to like anything outside of toys.

I am blessed more than I deserve.  I have a very rich life with my kiddos and P-Daddy.  We have some trying times, but they are still a lot of fun.  And this is LIFE AS I KNOW IT!

Tithing

No, they did not.  We give what we can.  I do wish that I could volunteer more, but at this time, it is not an option.  But that is just LIFE AS I KNOW IT!

My Birthday Gifts turn 1

These little nuggets above are my last 2 birthday gifts.  I got them last year for my birthday.  The one in yellow is EAM...My Omega or Tailgate...the baby of the Family.  The one in red and blue is HBS...our nephew.  EAM's birthday was 3 weeks ago and today is HBS'. 

Happy Birthday to 2 of my 4 birthday gifts from God.

I want this chair, but with 6 kids and wall to wall kid stuff, I have no room.  But I would love to have it in my "Someday" library!

Clean or Not??

I know that most people will answer that question with a big FAT "yes".  But there is a reason I ask the question.  I am a slight Pinterest junkie.  I like to look at it and pin while drinking my coffee or doing other things on the computer.  Anyway, I was looking (i.e. pinning) the other day and found that someone had pinned  the blog "10 household items you can clean in one minute" (yep, that is the link).

One of the things that the blogger thinks we should clean is Kitchen Towels.  While I do agree that kitchen towels should get washed, there is no way I can forget to wash them.  I have to wash towels 3 times a week.  Maybe that is because I have 6 kids???

On to the one that makes me think I am strange...The lint trap on the dryer.  I clean it out every time I dry clothes.  Is that weird?  I thought you were supposed to clean it every time.  So I am asking, are you supposed to clean it every time you dry clothes or not?

Sorry

I know that it has been such a long time since I have been writing, but as you all know...Life, sometimes, get in the way.

A lot has happened though.

Several new med tries for Colby.  None seem to be working, and we will be off the the Dr again today.  With the newest medicine [Depakote (sp?)], Colby's aggression has been up.  So I am thinking that this is not going to be a medicine that he continues to take.

Willie has had 4 hearing evaluations, surgery, a speech evaluation, and now we will be off to get a vision screening on Wednesday.  Speech therapy is a definite for him.

EAM has to go in for a feeding evaluation because he can not swallow solids...well he can not seem to swallow anything more than liquids.

School has started for the 5 oldest.  The girls are both doing very well with homeschooling.  HailNo (my little genius) is doing algebra this year (7th grade).  Fingers are crossed that she will be able to get her high school credit for it.  Hanny the Fanny is also doing algebra, but I am almost positive that she will be able to get the credit.

HailNo is making a cake for P-Daddy's birthday (which is tomorrow).  He turns 965.

Let's not forget that we have celebrated two of my 4 very favorite birthday presents birthday's!  2 more to go.  EAM's and Colby's are the first 2.  HBS' is in a few days, and then we will have Hanny the Fanny's soon thereafter.

Oh and I better not forget  that Pookie has won 3 trophies in 4 events!  SUPER PROUD MOMMA HERE!

New Life Challenge

Here is the Life as I Know It world (very, very small world...consists of about 20 people), there are more MAJOR changes.  All good changes, but changes all the same.  So, starting on Sunday, June 24th, 2012, Nick and I are starting a challenge.  This challenge includes working out every day and eating no bad foods.  My goal is to have a SMOKIN' Hot body by the time P-Daddy and I go on our mini-vaca!

All the Kids are Sick

And it SUCKS!  I feel so bad for my little darlings.  They have gone to the Dr. and most have nothing more than a VIRUS (I am pretty sure the meaning of Virus is: What Dr's tell parents when they have no idea!)!  Except my poor Pookie (the 16 year old), and he has pneumonia.  Hopefully the antibiotics he is on will kick in soon!  But in the meantime, the kids are all lounging around watching movie and eating junk!

I hope all my lovies get to feeling better soon!  But, This is just LIFE AS I KNOW IT!

Yes, I KNOW!

Kids!  I have 6 of them.  Their ages are 16, 13, 12, 10, 3 and 10 months (as of this posting).

Here I am walking around Target with Baby Ed on my hip, and some very nice lady says: "He is so cute!"
Me: Thank you
Nice Lady: Cherish every moment.  They are only this age once.
Me: Oh I know.  He has 5 older siblings.
Nice Lady: WHAT?
Me: Yes, he is one of 6.
Nice Lady: How old are you?
Me: 32???  (Why do people get personal?  Why is it any of her business how old I am???)
Nice, Nosy Lady:  You do know what causes that, Right? (Giggle)
Me: Yes ma'am, I do.
Nice VERY Nosy Lady: Are you going to have any more?
Me: I don't know.  We will see!

For the record, I do, IN FACT, know what causes babies!  I am known as Fertile Myrtle in certain circles.  I also will not be having any more babies.  This Momma is DONE!  


Why are people so flippin' nosy?  Why is it any of their business how many children I have?

Well, I get this kind of stuff daily!  This is just LIFE AS I KNOW IT!
